Hello there!  I’m Robert Maurice, a watercolor portrait painter based in Los Angeles.

 

The bold and vibrant choices I make in my paintings are an expression of my soul, fantasies and the fire that burns inside me.  I love being a gay man and am incredibly proud to be a part of this community and culture.  

 

The subjects of most of my work are also gay men, in various stages of undress and often completely nude.  I love the juxtaposition of vulnerability and sexiness and while some may consider this genre of art to be overtly sexual or taboo, I believe that when interpreted with an abstract element of color and my own personal style, the material becomes accessible and dare I say it, even… tasteful?
